Can't get here during business hours? If you have your reminder notice from the state, you can renew your Minnesota tabs with AAA through our drop box or mail service. Don’t forget to sign the back of your reminder notice and enclose a check for the exact amount. We have drop box sites in our main entrance, in the license lobby, and at our drive-up window. You may also drop off your renewals at any of our AAA branch offices in Hennepin County.

Simply follow the instructions on the blue and white drop box envelopes. Be sure to clearly check off how you’d like to receive your tabs. You can pick them up at our drive-up window, have them mailed to you, or have them sent to one of our branch offices.

• If you choose our drive-up window, your tabs will be ready by 12:00 noon the next business day (We don’t process tabs on Sundays, so if you drop your tabs off on Saturday, they’ll be ready on Monday). Our drive-up window is open for pickup 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
• If you choose one of our branch offices, your tabs will be ready by 3:00 p.m. the next business day.
• Please allow 5-7 business days if you wish to have us mail you your tabs.

You can also mail us your reminder notice and check, and we’ll mail you back your tabs. Allow 7-10 business days to get your tabs back (longer if you have an out-of-state address, or it’s the holiday season, etc.). Our address is:

* Please note that you can only use this service if you’ve received your reminder notice from the state. If you don’t have your notice, you’ll need to come in to our office with your ID and plate number to purchase your tabs.

 * Minnesota tab renewals are the only transactions we can process through our drop box/mail service. If you have other licensing needs, you’ll need to visit our office during business hours.
