Summary

We are looking for someone who can independently manage the enterprise database environment, collection, analysis and insightful display of company data for delivering best in class business intelligence. The incumbent will initiate the development of enterprise database infrastructure and business intelligence capabilities, develop processes, and implement best practices in order to establish master data management as a new competency for the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities

Data Collection, Standardization, and Automation

  • Prepare data feeds from department software applications and disparate data sources
  • Partner with company SMEs to understand granular detail and ensure data quality
  • Fully automate data extraction, transformation, and load technical processes
  • Identify, scope and deliver new opportunities for data collection
  • Document sources, definitions, and standardized processes for data collection

Data Management and End Use

  • Develop and maintain enterprise data warehouse for staging and consumption
  • Utilize SSIS, SQL Server Management and SSRS to develop and manage data flows from origin to warehouse and subsequent required output
  • Partner with SME’s to maintain a functional understanding of business data and ensure consistent data accuracy and integrity within the enterprise database environment
  • Maintain a functional understanding of departmental and company data
  • Identify and prioritize data management projects
  • Use best practices for data protection, security, and protocols

Data Analysis and Business Intelligence

  • Analyze and interpret data to assist executive management with strategic agendas, decision-making, operational improvements, and performance management
  • Investigate data to account for outliners, demonstrate patterns and trends
  • Partner with SME’s to understand reporting requirements
  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards and visualizations for end users via Power BI, SSRS, and SharePoint

Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience with SQL Server, data management and report writing
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL Server and Microsoft Productivity Applications
  • Proficient use of Microsoft ETL tools and reporting tools, SSIS and Power BI
  • Experience working with cross-functional project teams
  • Experience managing data from multiple sources
  • Self-starter and problem solver with the ability to work independently
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • B.A. or B.S. in IT, analytics (preferred)
  • Experience with new or start-up data initiatives, projects, or teams (preferred)
