Traffic crashes continue to be the leading cause of death for teens in Minnesota. Each year distracted driving is a factor in one in four crashes resulting in at least 70 deaths and 350 serious injuries. Teens are at greatest risk on the road due to inexperience, risk-taking behind the wheel, speeding and distracted driving. Teens also have the lowest seat belt use rate of all age groups.
