Day 1: Arrive in Rome

Arrive in Rome and check in at your hotel for a three-night stay. As the sun sets, be sure to visit the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain to throw in a coin or two. The architecture is quite spectacular when lit up at night. (Overnight in Rome)

Day 2: Rome

Today after breakfast, enjoy of day of spectacular sightseeing with your included tours. First, discover the Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel with your small group tour, which includes convenient hotel pick-up. In the afternoon, explore the heritage of ancient Rome with a walking tour of the Colosseum and Roman Forum. Start your tour near Oppian Hill – one of the famous Seven Hills of Rome – to enjoy panoramic views of the Colosseum and surrounding area, and then stroll down to it with your guide. Day 3: Rome

Day 4: Rome to Sorrento

After breakfast, make your way to the station and board the Trenitalia first-class train for your comfortable journey from Rome to Naples. From Naples, take the private car transfer to Sorrento and on arrival, check in at your hotel for a four-night stay. Sorrento, the city of orange and lemon groves, is one of the most beautiful destinations in Europe. Many invaders have passed through the city over the generations - the Etruscans, the Greeks, the Romans and later the Normans. The peninsula has also been home to some of the great English poets such as Byron and Keats. Enjoy getting to know the city today! (Overnight in Sorrento) 

Day 5: Sorrento

Sorrento, the city of orange and lemon groves, is one of the most beautiful destinations in Europe. Many invaders have passed through the city over the generations - the Etruscans, the Greeks, the Romans and later the Normans. The peninsula has also been home to some of the great English poets such as Byron and Keats. After a leisurely breakfast this morning, take a walk through the town to discover the lovely piazzas and sample a glass of Limoncello liqueur or some traditional Sorrentine cuisine at a local restaurant. Explore Via San Nicola and the numerous other pretty streets, lined with shops selling leather, handmade gifts, spices and traditional chinaware. (Overnight in Sorrento)

Day 6: Sorrento

Enjoy your small-group visit to Pompeii and Mt. Vesuvius today. Meet your guide at Piazza del Popolo and then hop aboard your luxury, air-conditioned coach for your journey south to Italy’s Campania region. As you travel, your guide will keep you entertained with tales about the region, and of its brooding nemesis - the famous and fearsome Mount Vesuvius. As Europe’s best-known active volcano, Vesuvius gained notoriety for the destruction of the ancient towns of Pompeii and Herculaneum. After the tour, return to Sorrento for a relaxing evening. Day 7: Sorrento

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel this morning and then why not take a boat to the glamorous island of Capri - home to celebrities, designer boutiques and delicious ice cream cafés, just 30 minutes from Sorrento's harbor. (Overnight in Sorrento)

Day 8: Depart Sorrento
