Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Travel Agency Branch Manager to lead our team and drive sales and service excellence. As the Branch Manager of our AAA Minneapolis Headquarters, you will be responsible for overseeing the branch sales and profitability, managing and coaching staff, and ensuring exceptional customer service delivery.

Base Pay - $70,000-$85,000/ Year

Duties and Responsibilities

Management of Staff:

  • Provide day to day direction of the headquarters branch Travel Advisors and Travel Service Representatives to maintain a high level of service
  • Recruit, train and mentor staff setting performance goals and conducting regular performance check-ins and formal performance evaluations
  • Provide ongoing coaching and development opportunities to enhance team skills and knowledge
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes teamwork and high morale

Sales and Service:

  • Monitor sales performance metrics and take proactive measures to address areas of improvement
  • Stay updated on travel industry trends and market changes to adjust branch sales strategies to provide the best travel experience possible to customers
  • Ensure exceptional customer service delivery at all touchpoints, including inquiries, bookings, and post-travel support
  • Handle escalated customer issues and complaints professionally and efficiently
  • Assigns Triptiks that come through the website, and the SAM system to Travel Service Representatives at Headquarters and branches
  • Collaborate with other Travel management to promote travel events and participate in community involvement and business development activities

Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all Federal and State Travel industry regulations including the control and security of property, equipment, and customer information

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directly supervises up to 10 employees within the Travel Department
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 3 years travel agency experience required, including leisure travel sales
  • Minimum of 1-year experience providing people leadership is required
  • In-depth knowledge of travel products, destinations and industry trends
  • Strong commitment to coaching and developing team members
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and navigating internet based software systems required
  • Experience with airline GDS system and back-office accounting system

Education and/or Experience

  • Property & Casualty insurance license required
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of two years proven insurance sales experience required
  • Must obtain non-resident producer insurance license in additional states prior to writing business outside of Minnesota
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and internet-based applications
