Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President of Insurance to lead our Insurance agency.  The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the insurance industry, proven leadership skills, and a passion for driving business growth and operational excellence.  This role offers a unique opportunity for career advancement, with the potential to develop into a Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) position as our company continues to grow.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements strategic plans to achieve longer term sales and profitability goals to double the Insurance operation. 
  • Directs the overall operations of the Insurance Agency with responsibility for attainment of annual goals and objectives.
  • Formulates, implements and manages Insurance Agency policies and procedures to optimize operational and sales efficiencies.
  • Promotes and fosters quality working relationships with direct reports to enhance job performance by providing feedback, suggesting methods of improvement, and consistent coaching to aid in the development of team to ensure optimization of human capital and retention.
  • Manages the carrier and supplier relationships and balances between finding client solutions and managing insurer partner needs to support a healthy and growing relationship.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining current market relationships, contracts, and contingencies.
  • Addresses complex insurance issues to both internal and external customers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in Business or related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years work experience in the insurance industry
  • Minimum of 5 years people leadership experience
  • Prior experience in developing and implementing strategic growth plans for an insurance agency or insurance company.
  • Prior experience in managing full P&L for an insurance agency or a regional operation of an insurance company.
  • Must hold active property/casualty insurance licenses within the State of MN
  • Prefer candidates with active life and/or life/health insurance licenses within the State of MN
  • Demonstrates broad understanding of insurance products and services, contracts, and underwriting program structure.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, sharp decision-making skills and persuasive communication style
  • Computer skills required: Proficient in Microsoft Office and insurance agency management system (AMS); Vertafore experience highly preferred.
