Zero Proof Holiday Mocktail: Warm Pumpkin Spice Au Lait

The perfect drink to fill your cup when you want to cozy up to the fireplace or settle down with friends to watch a movie.

This recipe makes 6-8 8 oz. servings.

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 4 cups whipping cream
  • 1 15 oz. can of pumpkin puree
  • ¼ tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp.  ground cloves
  • 1/8 tsp.  ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp.  ground allspice
  • 1/8 tsp.  ground ginger
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract

Utensils

  • Whisk
  • Small bowl
  • Medium Sauce pans
  • 6-8 8 oz. glasses

Directions

  1. Combine cinnamon, gloves, nutmeg, allspice, and ginger in a small bowl. Mix and set aside.
  2. Combine milk, cream, and sugar in a saucepan over medium heat
  3. Stir until sugar is dissolved
  4. Whisk in pumpkin until well-blended
  5. Whisk in vanilla extract and the bowl of spices
  6. Simmer uncovered for 10-15 minutes
  7. Pour into glasses and garnish with fresh whipped cream and more spices – serve immediately

Tips and Substitutions

  • For a dairy-free version, use equivalent amounts of coconut or almond milk and 4 tsp. of maple syrup
  • Play with how savory or sweet the beverage is by increasing or decreasing the amount of sugar and spices you use
  • Add freshly brewed coffee to help kick-start your morning or help you stay awake with friends
