Arriving in Lake Orta in a little under two hours, you will find a serene and enchanting lake and town. Check into your hotel and then stroll along the lakeshore to take in the beautiful views. (Accommodations, Lake Orta)

Day 2: Lake Orta

Today you will have a Private 2-Hour Tour of the Old Town and Island of San Giulio. Your guide will meet you at your hotel and lead you through the multi-colored village of Orta with its historical buildings, interesting shops and typical cafes, one of the most romantic places in northern Italy. After strolling the cobblestone lanes a short boat ride will take you to visit San Giulio, the small island in the middle of the lake, filled with history. After the tour, you have free time in the afternoon and evening to explore the town further. Enjoy a bottle of local wine provided in your room. (Breakfast, Accommodations, Lake Orta)

Day 3: Lake Orta to Gavi

Transfer via private car with driver to the winemaking town of Gavi in the Piedmont region (driving time: 2 hours). Gavi is renowned for producing one of the best white wines of Italy. You will have a wine tasting at L’Ostelliere, your hotel for tonight, followed by dinner at the resort’s restaurant. The hotel is part of the Villa Sparina Winery, which produces the classic Gavi white wine. (Breakfast, Lake Orta; Dinner, Accommodations, Gavi)

Day 4: Gavi to Portovenere

Today you have a private car transfer through the rolling hills of Piedmont’s wine country to the Riviera resort of Portovenere (driving time: 2.5 hours). Originally built as a Roman fort, this beautiful village has a picturesque harbor and colorful houses, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Your 3-night stay is at the Grand Hotel Portovenere, a luxury boutique hotel with a superb restaurant and outstanding views over the harbor—which you will enjoy while having dinner at the hotel’s restaurant this evening. (Breakfast, Gavi; Dinner, Accommodations, Portovenere)

Day 5: Portovenere

Portovenere is often considered the “sixth village of the Cinque Terre.” Today you will have a Full-Day Tour of the Cinque Terre. Using the local trains, your guide will show you each of the five famous villages, stunningly situated on cliffs above the sea. (Breakfast, Accommodations, Portovenere)

Day 6: Portovenere
