JOB SUMMARY

 

The Marketing Specialist is responsible for supporting a broad range of AAA Minneapolis’ marketing activities focused on member acquisition and retention. The primary responsibility of this position is to manage and execute the Discounts & Rewards program which helps AAA members save money on shopping, dining, entertainment, hotel, travel services and prescription medicine.This program is a key member benefit and important retention tool. The position will serve as the main point of contact for local partners and as the club liaison for national partners. The Marketing Specialist will be expected to grow the Discounts & Rewards program through quality partnerships and offerings. Additionally, the Marketing Specialist will help develop and execute integrated marketing programs including advertising, sponsorships, partnerships and other initiatives as assigned.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Discounts & Rewards Program (70%)

  1. Develop and maintain relationships with existing Discounts & Rewards partners via meetings, email, and phone correspondence
  2. Prospect and secure new Discounts & Rewards partners based on club and member needs
  3. Manage and monitor Discounts & Rewards offers through NextJump, Member Offer Database, and Impression Tracking System
  4. Promote the Discounts & Rewards program and partners in the club publication, by email and direct mail, social media and other AAA owned media properties
  5. Monitor and analyze program metrics to optimize Discounts & Rewards initiatives
  6. Work ith the Senior Manager of Marketing and Communications to develop the annual Discounts & Rewards marketing plan
  7. Collaborate with AAA National on a regular basis to ensure the Discounts & Rewards program adheres to national requirements and quality standards
  8. Oversight of the Discounts & Rewards marketing budget

 

Marketing Communications (30%)

  1. Assist the Senior Manager of Marketing and Communications in the development of marketing and media plans, campaigns, and partnerships
  2. Ensure the timely execution and delivery of print ads, television advertising, direct mail, email, signage, and promotions
  3. Serve as a key marketing point of contact for internal AAA Minneapolis business lines and external vendors and partners
  4. Manage the AAA Minneapolis LED signage
  5. Work with the Senior Manager of Marketing and Communications to provide marketing department and business teams with occasional competitive reports, consumer insights, trend tracking, data mining and other strategic marketing support as assigned
  6. Participate in AAA Minneapolis community and promotional events as required

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising or related discipline
  2. Minimum of 1 year experience in a marketing or sales role
  3. Understanding of consumer marketing principles and integrated marketing communications
  4. Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
  5. Self-starter with ability to work independently
  6. Strong presentation and writing skills
  7. Ability to travel occasionally within Hennepin County
  8. Proficiency with Microsoft Office
