Activity Level
Level 3: This tour includes moderate physical activity. For multi-day trips, the itinerary blends some longer days with shorter days and more leisure time. Walking tours, as well as walking slightly longer distances, up stairs or on uneven walking surfaces should be expected. Most Level 3 tours would include guided tours with walking distances up to a mile or up to an hour at a time (at a very leisurely pace). This tour would also include optional activities that would require additional walking.

Depart Minneapolis for Casablanca
Arrive at the Mohamed V International Airport in Casablanca. You will be met and greeted by our representative and our national tour guide. Depart for Casablanca if time permits, visit the Corniche to enjoy the view of the Atlantic Ocean. Then to the Hassan II Mosque, the Casablanca Cathedral, and the Mohammed V square. Arrive at your hotel to check in, baggage handling, dinner, and rest for the night.

Enjoy your breakfast and check out. This morning we will head with our national guide to Fez via Rabat and Volubilis. Arrive to Rabat for a morning tour of the capital city of Morocco. If time permits, we will visit the Chellah Roman ruins, Oudayas Kasbah, Mohamed V Mausoleum, and medieval Hassan Tower. Lunch on your own at a local restaurant in Rabat. After lunch, we will drive to the Roman ruins and mosaics of Volubilis. It was once upon a time the capital of the Roman Province of Mauritania and the house of Sylene, Antony and Cleopatra's daughter who married the Berber King Juba of Gallienus. Arrive at Fez, the spiritual, intellectual, and once capital city of Morocco. Check in to your hotel Marriott or similar. Baggage handling. Dinner, then rest for the night.

After breakfast, we will join our local guide for a full-day sightseeing tour of Fez, one of the four oldest Imperial Cities in Morocco. The tour includes the great Gateway of the Royal Palace, the Jewish, the 15th-century Borj Nord (north forth), and the 9th-century oldest university of the world. Lunch is on your own. We will also make a few stops by local handicrafts factories such as pottery, brass, hand-woven carpets, and bakery where everything is made in the traditional Moroccan way. (Picture taking is permitted and shopping for items is optional). Return to your hotel and freshen up for dinner and entertainment at the Palais La Medina restaurant. Return, and retire for the night.

After breakfast and check out, we will depart with our driver toward Erfoud via Ifrane and Midelt (Long drive, but a spectacular view). Lunch is served in Midelt included. Arrive at your hotel in Erfoud to check-in. Enjoy your dinner included at your hotel and rest for the night.

After breakfast, you are free to enjoy the morning on your own, to relax and discover more of what your Kasbah hotel facilities have to offer. Lunch is served at your hotel included. At 4:00 pm, we depart by 4X4 to the Sahara Desert where you will cross by camel the dunes of golden sand to witness the beauty of the sunset. Return to your hotel for dinner, and rest for the night.

After breakfast and check out. Head for the Todra Gorges via several beautiful Kasbahs and Berber villages where you will have the chance to meet the locals. Lunch will be served at the El Yasmina Restaurant or similar on its own. Arrive at your Hotel in Ouarzazate/ Dades or similar, check-in, baggage handling, dinner and retire for the night.

Enjoy your breakfast, then check out. Depart for Marrakech via Ouarzazate through many kasbahs and Berber villages. Lunch will be served in one of the restaurants at Ait Benhaddou. Enjoy free time to discover the kasbah, where a group of mud buildings surrounded by high walls, is a traditional Saharan habitat. The houses crowd together within the defensive walls, which are reinforced by corner towers. This site is a striking example of the architecture of southern Morocco. Leave the kasbah toward Marrakech via Ouarzazate, once the home of the most powerful Berber pashas of Morocco. Checking to your hotel Le Meridien/ Marriott or similar enjoy your dinner and rest for the night.

Enjoy your breakfast this morning at your hotel included. Meet our national guide for a full-day sightseeing tour of the pearl of the south. This imperial city was founded in the 11th century and once upon a time was the capital city of Morocco. Lunch, and free time for shopping on your own at the famous Djamaa El Fn'a square. Visits will include the Koutoubia Mosque, known as a masterpiece of Almohades dynasty art, the Bahia Palace, the Pasha Museum, the Jewish quarter "Mellah", Beth-El Synagogue, and Menara Garden. Return to your hotel and freshen up for dinner and entertainment at Palais Dar Soukkar or similar. Return to your hotel and retire for the night.

After early breakfast and check out, we will depart for a day trip to the coastal city of Essaouira, a favorite vacation spot for several 1970s rock stars. This former Portuguese fort, once called Mogador, means "fortress surrounded by ramparts". Essaouira is also known in the world for the production of Argan oil. Many famous Hollywood movies were filmed in Essaouira such as Game of Thrones, John Wick 3, and others. On the road, we will stop by a women's cooperative where you will witness the making of Argan oil and other related products. You will also have lunch at Le Chalet de Plage restaurant overlooking the water. Then free time for shopping. A brief visit of the city will include the medina, Scala, and the North Bastion. Return to your hotel in Marrakech, have dinner, and rest for the night.

Enjoy your breakfast, then check out. Depart for Casablanca, lunch is on your own. Arrive at your hotel baggage handling, then check in. Free time and freshen up for farewell dinner. Your dinner will be served at the famous Rick's Café Restaurant, based on the movie Casablanca, and owned by a former American diplomat. Return to your hotel and retire for the night.
