Activity Level

Level 2: This tour requires average physical activity. You should be in good health, able to climb stairs and walk reasonable distances, possibly over uneven ground and cobblestoned streets. Cancellation Penalty

Cancel before May 15th for a $50 fee. After May 15th, all payments are nonrefundable.

Day 1: Depart Minneapolis, MN to Paradise, MI

Meet your AAA Tour Manager at Lunds & Byerlys this morning and depart. A stop will be made at a rest stop. Time zone change, move watches forward one hour. Arrive Magnuson Grand Hotel Lakefront, Paradise, MI.

Day 2: Shepler's Ferry - Carriage Tour - Grand Hotel

Enjoy an included breakfast buffet. Place luggage outside hotel room door. Depart for Mackinac Island on Shepler’s Ferry Enjoy leisure time on island. Enjoy a leisurely lunch (on own) in the village before embarking on a carriage tour of the island. The tour will end at the Grand Hotel. Check in to the Grand Hotel. After 6:30pm evening wear is required in all areas of the hotel. For ladies, it includes dresses, skirt and blouse, or pantsuit; and for gentlemen a suit or sport coat, necktie and dress slacks; no denim in the evening. Delight in an included Five-Course Dinner (Open seating) and dance to the sounds of the Grand Hotel Orchestra in the Ballroom. Please note there is no motorcoach service on the island. There are carriage taxis or bicycles that can be rented while on the island to travel around. Please keep this in mind if you have limited mobility.

Day 3: Free Day on Mackinac Island - Optional Afternoon Tea at the Grand Hotel

Coffee is available this morning in the Audubon Room Enjoy an included breakfast-choice of menu or buffet (Open seating). This is in the same dining room as the dinner last night. Here are some of the things you can do on the Island: Arch Rock, Mackinac Island State Park, St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Butterfly House and Insect World, Fort Holmes, Wings of Mackinac Butterfly Conservatory, Round Island Lighthouse, Biddle House, The Haunted Theatre, Trinity Church, Sanders Candies, Anne Bench, Robert Stuart House, and Eagle Point Cave. Optional Traditional Afternoon Tea served at Grand Hotel (Reserve directly with hotel- at additional cost). This evening is free to enjoy the island on your own. Tonight, dance to the sounds of the Grand Hotel Orchestra in the Ballroom.

Day 4: Free Day on Mackinac Island

Coffee is available this morning in the Audubon Room Enjoy an included breakfast-choice of menu or buffet (Open seating). This is a free day on the island. This evening is free to enjoy the island on your own. Tonight, dance to the sounds of the Grand Hotel Orchestra in the Ballroom.

Day 5: Shepler's Ferry - Return Home

Coffee is available this morning in the Audubon Room. Place luggage outside of hotel room door. Breakfast begins in the Main Dining Room (Open seating). Gather on the front porch with the red stripes to transfer to the dock by carriage (Individual gratuity is optional). Board Shepler’s Ferry to St. Ignace. Board the coach to return to Lunds & Byerlys, St. Louis Park, MN. Welcome home!
