Activity Level

Level 2: This tour requires average physical activity. You should be in good health, able to climb stairs and walk reasonable distances, possibly over uneven ground and cobblestoned streets.   • Cancellation Policy: : Cancel before May 15th for a $100 fee. Cancel between May 15th and June 1st, 2024, with a 50% cancellation fee. After June 2nd, all payments are nonrefundable.

For your protection AAA recommends travel insurance. Pre-existing medical conditions may be waived with proper coverage if travel insurance is purchased within 14 days of initial deposit only. Other conditions may apply; ask your travel advisor. AAA recommends Allianz.

RESPONSIBILITY:  AAA Travel Agency offers retail travel services to customers that are provided by separate and independent vendors of travel services.  AAA provides you with access to these travel services.  AAA does not operate, control, or otherwise provide the services of independent travel vendors.  Hence, customer agrees and understands that AAA is not responsible for any operating failure, loss, damage, delay, or injury to you or members of your traveling party, nor for any consequential damages which may result from failures, delays, or injuries that arise out of or during your scheduled travel.  Customer agrees and understands that AAA is not responsible for any damages, direct or consequential, which may arise as a result of an act of God, social or labor unrest, war, political or national strike, terrorist activities, mechanical failures, climatic conditions, or any other actions or omissions beyond AAA’s control.  Fares, rates, charges, schedules, and other aspects of services provided by the independent travel vendors may change with or without notice.  Customer agrees and understands that AAA is not responsible for additional collection imposed by these vendors or changes in their operating schedules that reflect the current offering to the general public.  Penalty and refund provisions for all transportation agreements shall be those specifically outlined in the carrier and supplier tariffs, are fully enforceable to the extent that they are completely disclosed.  In the event an airline/travel vendor declares bankruptcy, it is not obligated to carry you or to provide refunds.  AAA is not allowed to provide refunds for vendors who have declared bankruptcy.  Payment given to our agency becomes the property of the airline or travel vendor as required by law.  If an airline or travel vendor declares bankruptcy, it might continue services or stop completely.  Other airlines or travel vendors may provide alternate service under limited circumstances.  Your receipts of travel documents and vouchers constitute your agreement to the foregoing and your responsibility to convey the same to members of your traveling party.

Day 1: Depart Minneapolis, MN to Philadelphia, PA

Meet your AAA Tour Manager at the Minneapolis International Airport this morning for your departure to Philadelphia, PA. Arrive at Philadelphia International Airport and meet Innovative motorcoach. Check into La Mer Beachfront Resort or similar in Cape May (Baggage Handling is included). Dinner is included at Harbor Shell Restaurant, located within the resort. Enjoy the rest of the evening on your own.

Day 2: Trolley Tour of Cape May - Cape May Ferry

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and have bags ready to check out. Meet with your group in the hotel lobby and depart. Enjoy a Trolley tour of Cape May and see the beautiful Cape May town. Take a Tour of Emlen Physick Estate and Carrol Gallery, a Victorian house museum where you can step back in time to the Victorian lifestyle. Dr. Physick walks guests through his home, pointing out Victorian decorations and telling stories of his family and friends. Lunch is on your own either at Cape May or on the ferry. Depart on Ferry and check into a Courtyard by Marriott Ocean City (Baggage handling included). Enjoy a free evening with dinner on your own to enjoy the beach and boardwalk.

Day 3: Assateague Explorer - Ocean City Boardwalk - DiscoverSea Shipwreck Museum

Enjoy breakfast at hotel. Arrive to board the Assateague Explorer. Enjoy the beautiful scenery, the famous wild ponies and other wildlife in the National Seashore boundary. This unspoiled area has bald eagles soaring by the Assateague Lighthouse and one of America’s best beaches at the nearby National Park. Dock and disembark. Stop at Ocean City Boardwalk, for lunch on your own and free time. Continue to Fenwick Island. Arrive at DiscoverSea Shipwreck Museum. The museum is an ever-changing exhibit that expands and diversifies with the acquisitions of new artifacts as they are recovered. Our collection of shipwreck and recovered artifacts is one of the largest in the Mid-Atlantic and contains shipwreck artifacts both regionally and worldwide. Through your DiscoverSea Shipwreck Museum visit, you will travel through a hands-on experience, which will enable you to shake hands with history. Arrive back at the hotel for free time and dinner on your own.

Day 4: St. Michael's Island - Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum - Patriot Cruise

Enjoy breakfast at hotel, have bags ready and checkout. Arrive at St. Michael’s Island, a picturesque harbor on Maryland's Eastern Shore that was named as one of the Top 10 Best Small Coastal Towns in America by USA Today. Its harbor and some homes date back to the mid-1600's. Enjoy a guided tour of the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum. The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum was founded in 1965 on Navy Point in St. Michael's and is rich in history and culture of the Chesapeake Bay. Have fun exploring the working shipyard, the 1879 Hooper Strait Lighthouse and Waterman’s Wharf exhibitions. Enjoy lunch on your own on St Michael's. Board Patriot Cruise and depart. Marvel at the stunning waterfront estates, picturesque lighthouses, and the abundant wildlife that call the bay home. The knowledgeable and friendly crew will provide fascinating insights into the area's rich history and ecology, ensuring an educational and entertaining experience for all. Day 5: Historic Annapolis - Naval Academy - Harbor Queen

Enjoy breakfast at hotel. Meet guide to tour the Historic Annapolis and Naval Academy. Discover the hallowed grounds where future naval officers are educated and trained. Explore the magnificent grounds, filled with historic landmarks, majestic buildings, and meticulously manicured gardens. Learn about the academy's prestigious history and gain insight into the life of a midshipman. Enjoy the Noon Meal Formation. Started as a roll call in the Civil War and adapted for the Naval Academy in 1905, Noon Meal Formation is an impressive show of discipline and training, whereby each of the six battalions announces, “all present or accounted for.” Then the USNA band plays their uplifting musical selections, “Anchors Aweigh” and the moving Marine Corps Hymn “The Halls of Montezuma,” the oldest song in the U.S. Military. Enjoy free time and lunch on your on at the Annapolis Harbor. Board Harbor Queen and enjoy A 45-minute sightseeing cruise. Delight in an included farewell dinner at Jimmy Cantler’s Riverside Inn. The menu includes, steamed hard shell crabs, steamed shrimp, corn on the cob, coleslaw, French fries, onion rings and your choice of iced tea or soda.

Day 6: Fort McHenry National Monument & Historic Shrine - Return Home

Enjoy breakfast at hotel; have bags ready and checkout. Arrive at Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine.
