Activity Level

Level 3: This tour includes moderate physical activity. For multi-day trips, the itinerary blends some longer days with shorter days and more leisure time. Walking tours, as well as walking slightly longer distances, up stairs or on uneven walking surfaces should be expected. Most Level 3 tours would include guided tours with walking distances up to a mile or up to an hour at a time (at a very leisurely pace). This morning we join the annual Bad Durkheim Wurstmarkt. Wustmarkt, which directly translates to "sausage market", is a 600-year-old wine festival that can beat all wine festivals in the world. Wine connoisseurs from different parts of the world attend the Wurstmarkt every September. Spend some time on your own sampling different wines and enjoying delicious food. September 22, 2024 - Stuttgart Sightseeing

(2 Nights) Today we venture to Stuttgart. Discover the historical side of Stuttgart with your Local Specialist. See the Opera House, a symbol of the past century, and learn about the various architectural styles from different time periods. Learn how the city has changed over time. Afterwards, we make our way to the Porsche Museum where you'll not only view the cars; you will also learn about the history of Porsche. Meal(s): Breakfast. After a leisurely morning, we will join the annual Stuttgart Beer Festival. Locally known as the Cannstatter Volksfest, this beer festival is the second largest beer festival in Germany with more than four million attendees every year. (Please note: Notable is reserved at the Cannstatter Volksfest, and guests will be responsible for their own expenses while at the event.) Meal(s): Breakfast.

September 24, 2024 - Rothenburg then Venture to Historic Nuremberg

(1 Night) Stroll through the narrow lanes of Rothenburg – it's beautiful medieval center seemingly frozen in time and encircled by a fortified town wall that remains intact after centuries. Admire the beautiful market square, lined with half-timbered houses, and the Old Town Hall. This afternoon, arrive in the Bavarian city of Nuremberg, once the unofficial capital of the Holy Roman Empire and today the economic, social and cultural capital of Franconia. During your orientation see the mighty castle ramparts and stand in the Hauptmarkt main square, which is dominated by the impressive Frauenkirche, a great example of the Gothic brick-style architecture of the region. September 25, 2024 - Regensburg and Munich

(2 Nights) You will have the opportunity to learn about the history of bratwurst. Find out what spice gives Nuremburg's bratwursts its delicate yet hearty flavor during a cooking class. Then, enjoy the fruits of your labor during an included lunch. Next, you'll discover one of Germany’s most scenic and historical cities, Regensburg. Immerse yourself in its UNESCO-listed beauty during an orientation tour which will show you some of the local highlights like the Regensburg Cathedral, the Old Stone Bridge, the medieval Old Town, and the ancient Porta Praetoria. Our final stop today is Munich. Be welcomed into fun-loving Munich as you join your Travel Director for an orientation tour.
