Who should attend?
In Minnesota, parents/guardians are the primary educators of new teen drivers. This meeting should be attended by the person that will do the majority of the supervised driving. Students are welcome to attend with a parent, but it is not required.
How long is Parent Night, and what is covered?
Parent/Guardian Night is 90 minutes in length and packed with valuable information to help you make decisions about preparing a skilled, low-risk teen driver. We present information on:
- GDL and our program
- Updates on laws and best practices
- Ideas for structuring teen driving based on risk
- Insuring a teen driver
Is Parent Night held in-person, or online?
AAA Minneapolis Driving School Parent Nights are currently being held online only, via Zoom.
How is the certificate issued?
By attending this meeting, you will receive a certificate that gives you permission to log only 40 hours of driving on your student's supervised driving log.
- Parents must attend the full meeting and have video on the whole time to receive credit for attending.
- At the end of the meeting, you will complete a short survey to collect the information necessary for the certificate.
- Certificates will be mailed in 2-3 business days after the meeting.
